Talking Gender Roles and Patriarchy with Dr. Julie Hanks: Eve Unleashed Podcast
I recently had the opportunity to speak with Brittani and Madison, hosts of Eve Unleashed Podcast, about gender roles and patriarchy. It was clear to me early on in my life that men were empowered and women were not in my home and my church and it always bothered me.
We're not always aware of how patriarchy impacts us. Caring for other human beings is important work and valuable, but we get to choose how we approach the gender roles surrounding that care. The default in society is set up to support men to have employment and family, and women to only have family, but we can have both. Women have to advocate for themselves within their family structure.
