Soul Sessions with Jodie Gale: Assertiveness for Women with Dr. Julie Hanks

I recently had the opportunity to talk with Jodie Gale, host of the Soul Sessions with Jodie Gale podcast. We spoke about assertiveness, attachment, and how women can take steps toward being better advocates for themselves.

Assertiveness is expressing yourself in a clear, kind way that doesn’t infringe on the rights of others. Women sometimes have a hard time being assertive because they are socialized to be self-sacrificing and because assertiveness is falsely seen as aggression. Assertiveness is a tool that helps us live our best, most authentic lives.
