How can I stop overthinking about things in the future that are out of my control?: Ask Dr. Julie Hanks

In this episode, I coach Kirsten and address the question, “How can I stop overthinking about things in the future that are out of my control?” Kirsten finds herself constantly thinking ahead and worrying about consequences, pros and cons, and right and wrong. This interferes with her ability to enjoy her life as it is today.

During our time together, I notice Kirsten worrying about making right choices. I propose a new idea: What if there are multiple good choices, not just one right choice? A good decision is different than the right decision. There’s too much pressure if we think there can only be one right wayI invite her to go for the good in her life instead of for only the perfect and right.
