I recently had the opportunity to speak with Kevin Galang, the host of Agents of Change Podcast, about instant gratification, why it is a concern, and how it has affected the way businesses operate.

It's part of development to be able to delay gratification. What's problematic about instant gratification is that children and teens who become adults are not learning that skill of how to wait, develop patience, and work hard for something. From a consumer point of view, we need to learn how to be patient and if we want to protect our own mental health, turn off our devices at certain times. Be in charge of the information that's coming at you so you're not constantly having the pressure or anxiety to respond to every ping that comes in night and day.
